There are some 20 stars in this open cluster. It also is one of the nearest open clusters to earth.  It is also in the  unique position for transition from T Tauri activity to the Zero Age Main Wequence.
A lot of the open clusters can be found in both Monoceros and Puppis, because it is a dust free region of our Milky Way spiral arm..
