NGC 5055

Sunflower Galaxy
Constellation Canes Venatici
This bright spiral galaxy is approx 25-35 million light-years away, this galaxy is approx 10,000 light-years across, which mean that it is about the same size as our Mikly Way.  The Sunflower Galaxy, has a yellowish core and blue spiral arms indicating quite a bit of dust, with the dark filaments.  There are glowing red areas as well indicating hydrogen gas.

Interesting, one of the reasons we know about dark matter is from M63.  The outer stars rotate about the center of the galaxy at such a high speed, they should fly off into space, inferring some sort of invisible gravity present.
