Constellation Auriga
This bad boy was discovered in 1654 by Italian Giovanni Hodierna and observed by Messier on Sep 2, 1764.  It is some 4,400 light-years away and measures some 25 light-years across with over 500stars.  It is also considered the finest open clusters of the three in Auriga.  Astronomers estimate the age from 347 million to 550 million years. This bad boy has at least a dozen red giants within its family, with over 150 stars brighter than 12.5.  its visual Magnitude is 6.2
