Constellation: Sagittarius
This open star cluster really isn't too impressive, it was discovered by Messier in 1764.  M18 is located between M17 and the Sagittarius Star Cloud M24.  Astonomers have aged this open cluster at 32 million years, and some 4,900 light-years away.
